Hamburg's smallest luxury hotel is hidden behind a snow-white facade built in the late 1800s. It has been family-owned for many years. The Aussen Alster Hotel only has 27 rooms, so that we can ensure that our guests are as undisturbed and comfortable as possible. In furnishing and outfitting our rooms and baths, we have consciously dispensed with trying to achieve the lowest common denominator and have instead given preference to clear lines and uncompromising modernity. Form follows function, modern colors predominate, and there is no point in looking for plush and pomp.

One of the signs of a good hotel is an equally good restaurant. The "Schmilinsky" reflects the same commitment to quality and service as our hotel - in terms of both ambience and cuisine. Guests will find our restaurant's menu modern and creative with emphasis upon freshness, simplicity and variety. With its limited number of tables and idyllic little garden, the "Schmilinsky" evokes an almost mediterranean aura of intimacy and graciousness that is so much appreciated by both our guests from out of town and local gourmets.
